This was long so I didn’t read it all but read your exchange with Chris Hayes and his lousy follow up. This is why I stopped watching MSNBC years ago. He doesn’t deserve your respect. Does he ever have a detranser on. ?
One of the many sad subplots to this gender nonsense is realising that all of your brave, truth-telling left-wing heroes are cowards and full of fucking shit.
If you want real investigative reporting on the transgender movement, its ideology, and its ties to the corporate medical industrial complex, read Jennifer Bilek. Hayes is a propagandists.
I'm afraid the answer is simple: he, like the vast majority of us, is a coward. And the great sweep of us are cowards because cowardice usually pays off.

To whom you are attracted sexually is purely subjective and therefore cannot reasonably be contested by an outside observer.
Where you decide to live your life on a spectrum of superficial, stereotypical male to female attributes (and we all do) is also purely subjective and similarly cannot be questioned.
However, your biological sex reflects an objective reality which cannot be changed by your subjective personal view and futile attempts to do so can result in serious health impacts to you as well as harms to members of the sex you are impersonating (primarily women).
Others who are grounded in objective reality should never be forced to accept your subjective version of your actual biological sex.
Finally, it's past time for the LGB community to separate themselves from the trans activists who are trying to take away the rights of women to fairness in sports and to privacy and safety in their restrooms, locker rooms and prisons. They also advocate for the chemical and surgical mutilation of children many of whom would grow up gay.
Their actions are evil and the
understandable negative reaction to the harm they are causing is spilling over to innocent people who are just going about their business, marrying and leading their lives.
Incisive writing delivering a compelling argument, Jenny. If only those suffering from “insane empathy” or “terminal apathy” (I.e. the majority of the population) would take notice. I’m misquoting Dr Leor Sapir, a political science researcher at the Manhattan Institute, because I don’t remember his exact words but you get the idea. The insane empathisers are the “be kind” brigade and the terminally apathetic are those who don’t get involved because it doesn’t directly affect them. What they have in common is a lack of curiosity to delve deeper into the reasons why life long liberals and lefties appear to have suddenly morphed into Neo Nazis!
I’ve just been listening to Leor’s podcast interview with Stella and Sasha on Gender - a Wider Lens, Episode 88 (well worth a a listen, for any of you who haven’t heard it). He talks about the origins of Genderism (my term not his) and makes an important point that Queer Theory and Gender Identity Theory (aka “born in the wrong body”) are in complete opposition to each other - the former militates against “normative” gender stereotypes and is the idea behind “non-binary” while the latter embraces gender-conforming stereotypes, often to the point of caricature. Nonetheless, both co-exist under the Trans umbrella.
Another important point he makes is that they (the Trans lobby) have “all the PR but no science” whereas sex realists have “all the science but no PR”. Stella pointed out that “our side” need some catchy phrases to counter the catchy phrases of Trans lobbyists. One suggestion from Stella was “body affirming therapy” to counter “gender affirming therapy”, which I thought was great. Notwithstanding this excellent suggestion, Leor cautioned that it is extraordinarily difficult to come up with memorable catchphrases that don’t demonise the “other side”. (I totally agree with him that sex realists should always endeavour to hold the moral line and refuse to descend to the level of name calling and ad hominem attacks).
Thanks again for your work and congratulations on the FFS Friday award.
Good morning Jenny. I am in no mental or emotional state to be responding to your article. I didn't get much sleep lastnight due to existential trauma.
But here goes...
I am more than halfway into a decade starting with F (which I think stands for Fuck you) but contains an extra F for emphasis. I don't have a trans identified child. I don't have any children. I should be gardening. But instead I have added my signature to the pledge to fully inform myself of everything Gender Ideology and go forth and inform others. I have been met by; silence; mere thumb symbols to lengthy fact filled texts; accusations of believing in a conspiracy theory; and one "shut up about it".
But when someone falls from a pedestal you didn't fully realise you had them on, it's another arrow in my thin veil of hope for humanity. My utter condolences to you.
My "revulsion to porn-informed womanhood" 😪, is at it's peak and wounds me just a little bit more than my complete outrage over men in sports, medical butchering of children, AGPs in womens' spaces and all the countless other related injustices occurring today because it's a bullet in the heart of every human female on the planet and all that are yet to be born, and worse.
Today, I fear we really are being erased. No-one is listening. So many who could inform the public and help reverse this juggernaut of insanity are choosing to be wilfully ignorant.
Yes, who knows what you would be writing about instead, if your daughter was not a victim to all this. But your voice is powerful and perhaps your need to do everything motherthy possible to protect her is your driving force.
Without a female child, with my subconscious whispering to me 'this is negatively effecting your mental health...you could just put this down and walk away'... the only thing that keeps me going is innate fear of death by shame if I stop speaking the truth in support of the billions of current and future victims....a demise I wish wholeheartedly on Chris and everyone like him.
If it wasn't for women like you, women like me would give up.
Summoning the strength to go on today on behalf of you and your daughter.
Wow, I am speechless, for a real change! I can’t thank you enough for that beautiful comment. I will come back to it again and again. ❤️🙏✊(I still have emojis, thank god.😘)
Can't find it at the moment on Dansky's Substack, but I think she has a book on "How the Democrats Abandoned Women" -- truer words have never been spoken. Largely because they apparently haven't got a goddamn clue about the fundamental and bedrock difference between male and female. One of the primary manifestations being an inability and pigheaded reluctance to clearly differentiate between sex -- i.e., reproductive abilities -- and gender -- i.e., sexually dimorphic personality traits, roles, and behaviors.
Heartbreaking. We continue to knock on all these doors, we try to wake people up, we strive to bring some clarity without ruffling feathers, and this is all we get, over and over again: condescendence from people we used to admire, silence from people we love, insults from people we don't know. This issue is a clear indication that our society is ill.
> "... We continue to knock on all these doors, we try to wake people up ... "
You might reflect on the old joke about how to train a mule ... 😉🙂
Psychology Today: "So the farmer took him out to the barn, and there in a stall at the back was the mule. Just as they walked up to it, the farmer leaned down, picked up a two-by-four, and smacked the mule over the head. ... You have to get its attention first."
Great piece. This covers the "middle of the road" issue [MEDICAL AND SURGICAL Treatment of GD in minor children and young adults] issue being experienced by folks on all "spectrums" of the political and cultural landscape. I concur with the call out for the lack of perspectives ( depth of discussion and the longitudinally of new data in this fast moving topic) being broken down and debated. I wish more people of both sides could have open discussion that elevate our children's best interests above the culture war(riors). Well done Jenny.
This is one of the best criticisms of liberal media (and my darling MSNBC journalists) I’ve seen. I hope Hayes see this. If he isn’t persuaded by this artfully written piece, that he’s betrayed himself as a journalist, he’s too far gone. I’ve subscribed and look forward to reading more of you.
He wouldn’t be. I feel quite sure he is fully aware of the boundaries within which he has to operate to maintain his place as a well paid propagandist.

Uh, no. He is determined to see one side only —but don’t worry, I lost all respect for him years ago.
This is a great piece, thank you. Life long democrat and I will do my best to hold their feet to the fire.

Amen to that. Philip Wylie -- writing in his Generation of Vipers some 80 years ago -- argued that we have a "cancer of the soul":

The rot goes rather deep and it may well be fatal.
