I'm a West Coast liberal atheist. He's an East Coast conservative Christian for whom I feel deep respect, gratitude and even affection. I bet you will feel the same.
I live in MN where “the ideology rules the day” and not only doctors but other medical professionals are “terrified of being fired or cancelled.” Our family was “shredded” in 2014 and is one of numerous that I have come to know impacted by this “Family Fracturing Scourge.” Your podcast was a gift to me at the time I was called to speak before area pastors. And this interview is encouragement to keep on churning.
Thank you, Brandon! I’ll keep that in mind. My focus has been with family but if more medical people reach out to me, I may need help from you and some of your great connections.
I'm sure Brandon deserves most of the credit, but I'm glad you took the time to comment, as we can all use all the encouragement we can get. If you want to say more about your experience, maybe on the podcast, you can email me privately: jen.poyerack@gmail.com
Your work is greatly appreciated. And thank you for your offer. I’ve had several speaking opportunities of late with one being a podcast. I fear each has knocked a year off my life. LOL Certainly not something I aspire to. I think I will pass, but if you don’t mind, I will keep your email in my back pocket for a friend in the medical community that is currently facing some hardships for his boldness and integrity.
Yet another podcast where I learned new facts, people and events in the strange land of gender. I am so excited for a new podcast to listen to, and I echo the other comments thanking Brandon for fighting to protect the vulnerable against a social and medical scandal of epic proportions. I agree that this touches everyone’s lives and is an assault on reality!!
Thank you for introducing me to Brandon Showalter! As you've noted, one of the positive side-effects of getting pulled down the rabbit hole on this is getting to know good people you may never have otherwise. I will definitely be checking out "Generation Indoctrination".
For those interested in hearing more from Sen. Ed Diehl, he did a great interview last year with Peter Boghossian: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zl23l3HwNA8 As a center-lefty resident of his state who otherwise disagrees with him on many other things, it inspired me to reach out to him directly to make common cause thank him for what he tried to do.
Fantastic interview, Jenny & Brandon. Brandon, your compassion and very Christian love for humanity shines through every interview I’ve seen you do. I was so grateful when I found your sensible & sensitive reporting—you’re a godsend for parents & families struggling with trans-ID’d children. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your dogged attention to this crime against humanity.
My daughter desisted quickly, and has thanked us for not affirming & not sending her onto a medicalized path. Now she’s a beautiful girl who wants to get married & to have a large family. This is the exact opposite of who she thought she was 7 years ago!
Jenny, thank you for posting this interview so more parents & friends can see the loving, caring allies we have among conservatives & Christians.
I appreciate that, thank you. I've seen more than my fair share of crazies and mean jerks in religious spaces (ugh) and so I am deliberate in how I speak that communicates across ideological lines. I don't do it perfectly, but I'm glad to hear that it comes through. Am deeply grateful for what I've learned from radfems and others who have been raising the alarm and speaking truthfully for many years. Also glad to hear that your daughter desisted!
Transgenderism is clearly a religion. Jesus rose from the dead. A man can become a woman. Both are examples of a kind of magical thinking protected in the US by the First Amendment as is my belief as an atheist that they are religious nonsense.
I too lack the ability to suspend disbelief in the supernatural, so I choose atheism. It works for me. I also get a feeling of awe when in the cathedrals of Europe, and when listening to the choral and chamber music inspired by the devotion of Beethoven, Handel and Mozart to a god I don’t believe in, but I’m happy they did. I also think the metastasis of ‘trans’ exploited a spiritual vacuum in our culture and that atheism offers little protection from such malignancies. So, I’m open to the friendship of anyone who comes in good faith and who’s fighting the same demons, whatever his motivation.

I'm so sorry. MN is one of the worst. Happy to chat with you if I can be of any help.

Understood! Don't hesitate to reach out if you need. Email me at brandon.showalter@christianpost.com

Me too. Thanks for that lovely comment, Mama!
Great episode!
I first heard Brandon speak 4 years ago with his speech beggining," Gender ideology transforms everything it touches." (Bring your kleenex)
He is a strong voice in the wilderness. https://youtu.be/WWErAYEl5j0?si=dmgxZAGVHpCoIVxq
I just watched this. Wow! Thank you for sharing it.
4.5 years ago, that was. We've come a long way indeed.
But it feels just as relevant today. It was an incredibly moving speech.
Thanks!
Great podcast Jenny! Thanks for introducing me to Brandon

Me too. I love to sing and listen to the hymns of my childhood.
My two cents, that "awe" you feel listening to that music IS "suspending disbelief in the supernatural", haha. I would say that though.
That would make for a good dinner-party conversation, wouldn’t it? (Hint hint)
