Great discussion, if a little depressing - but that’s where we are. The cult analysis is interesting. To me, this cult is different in two ways. The first you noted, which is the absence of a charismatic leader. The swing, however, is more disturbing and accounts for why it is so widespread. Society cannot see it for the cult it is. Instead, society has become the cult leader - from the President to our educators, doctors, entertainers, journalists and so forth. Heck, large banks are endorsing this cult. What other cult gets the endorsement of Disney and Starbucks? Of course, as you both said, they think they are on the right side of history - but If that’s the right side, I’m making a hard left!!
Yikes, you’re right! Society has become the cult leader. That’s going to make it awfully hard to prosecute.

Oops. I meant to say “second” - not “swing.”
A great listen. Thanks
