Ugh! I fear for the coming generations!with that much money invested in this dangerous ideology, it’s discouraging to think about overcoming it. But it must be rooted out totally!
Thank you for doing this. I wonder if there's a way to establish an overview of all of the diabolical donor's investment portfolio and advocate for boycotting whatever products, services, or even medicines they're most heavily invested in. I do not like the idea of perpetual class-colonialism wherein the elites waive their dollars around and we’re all beholden to their mysogonistic ant-human biology experiments with little to no ability to fight back
It would be a tremendous service if someone would list all the companies and charities that go along with the gender ideology! I have had to cut back the number of charities I support , because I looked up their policies in regard to gender ideology.
I have been asking individual companies for their written statements on TG policy in their workplace. Then I can decide to spend my money there or not, depending on the policies the company has implemented. Support the companies who are not forcing their employees to comply with the outrageous demands from the TG lobby and withdraw my money and energy from those who do. I'm one tiny person but it's something I can do.
I do the same with charities . It would be good to know which companies to avoid spending money on, but I would think it would be hard to find ones that do not support the gender cult. They are probably threatened if they do not say yes to the cult.
Fascinating, terrifying, grotesque... It makes me wonder if such (excellent) blogs such as yours and Jennifer Bilek's are simply documenting our descent into transhumanism.
I'm afraid I don't have a few spare mill to amplify my agency on this issue... Great post though, thanks 👍
I am hoping that we are doing more than “documenting our descent into tranhumanism,” although it can at times seem a relentless drive from the activists, ideologues and their financial backers. Instead, I think if enough light and transparency is put on the cult of gender, the vast majority of common sense people will unite to reverse the trend
The vast majority of know that the trans cult is lying, at least those who are aware of the cult. If it were put to a vote, the trans cult would disappear!
Indeed you are and your journalism is much appreciated and very valuable. Where I live the MSM is dire and complicit so I despair of things changing sometimes.
Oh no, it predates my knowledge of that podcast, I should probably change it as I guess people might assume wrongly. I once got tagged as author by Wesley Yang which was awkward
"the way group-think achieves the force of powerful moral consensus by leveraging varied incentives"
Amen to that -- a fascinating process but a seriously "problematic" one. ICYMI, Charles MacKay -- author of "Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds" -- thereon:
“Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, one by one.”
Never did read all of that book -- most of it, but a rather depressing litany of those "popular delusions and madnesses" -- I'm sure if MacKay had an opportunity to update that book then "gender identity" would get "pride of place". 😉🙂 Though the roots of that go rather deep and, maybe arguably, "condemn" many of us for contributing to it.
But thanks for the guest post from Gerald -- very illuminating and quite damning. Though, as I argued in a recent post of his, one might reasonably suggest that he's at least a part of the problem:
Gerald: “It requires that professionals ... must confirm the self-diagnosis of children and young teenagers who believe they are a different gender than their birth sex.”
Of course all kids have a "different gender [from] their birth sex" -- they're entirely different kettles of fish, though more like different phyla -- petunias and aardvarks.
Not sure if you followed the link in my recent Note -- thanks for the Like 👍🙂 -- on the "travails" of Stella O'Malley and Andrew Doyle, but he made a very cogent observation that is of some relevance to the above:
Doyle: "Most of the disputes are destined to remain unresolved because there are few shared definitions among competing parties. "
But he too is contributing to the same problem as he seems to "think" that "sex is immutable" -- arrant nonsense and egregiously anti-scientific claptrap -- while being unable to give any justification at all for that "belief":
Doyle: "Similarly, many transactivists insist that those of us who believe that sex is immutable have been 'radicalised online'."
Unfortunately, that "article of faith" is, I think, what is contributing greatly to the whole transgender problem. If we can't agree on what words mean then we haven't a hope in hell of resolving problems that turn on them. Confucius says: 😉🙂
"If language be not in accordance with the truth of things, affairs cannot be carried on to success. ... Therefore a superior man considers it necessary that the names he uses may be spoken appropriately .... What the superior man requires is just that in his words there may be nothing incorrect."
You don’t think that sex is binary and immutable? You don’t think that evolution is true? That’s the crux of the matter…that too many people have ditched biology and science in general in the interest of “kindness” , which is nothing more than lying! Trans ideology is completely false and based on lies! Nothing the trans cult says is true ..nothing! No man can ever be a woman! No woman can ever be a man! That’s reality !
Excellent intro, analysis of incentives and analogies. It feels like Team Kindness is everywhere. But then once you talk to regular people outside the confines of an institution, outside the places where group-think has truly taken hold (where they could face disciplinary action for anything perceived as transphobic) you uncover all manner of doubts and the residue of common sense and whatever people learned in biology back in the day.
I agree that reason and instinct will prevail in the end. I recently saw a discussion thread (I think in Blocked & Reported) where people were noticing pronouns quietly disappearing from email signatures at work. Maybe that's how it looks when the culture starts to catch on? Also, thanks for the kind words.
I have been saying for a long time that these cosmetic procedures should not be covered by insurance. They are not medically necessary. I have said that face lifts and Braziliain Butt Lifts aren't covered so why should vaginoplasties or wholly unnecessary mastectomies be covered? But now you've confirmed that they are even covering "butt implants" - not much difference from Brazilian Butt Lifts, and brow lifts - not much different from face lifts. This makes it even more clear that there is no rational basis for covering these procedures with medical insurance, private or public.
The tremendous increase in funding for all things transgender is scary, as is the billions in profits from hormones and surgeries. It is not kind to support a delusion, and it is particularly cruel to mangle bodies as part of such support. Thank you for your research, as it provides the factual underpinnings for something I and many reading this Substack have been feeling instinctively.
Can you milk these corporate medical benefits to get free plastic surgeries by identifying as "queer" if you work for one of the corporations listed by HRC?
Like for example, if you go to a plastic surgeon and tell them the moles on your face gives you gender dysphoria because women are supposed to be spotless so you demand the moles to be removed and the procedure to be paid by your employer, would it go through?
Believe me, I've thought about this! I could make a strong argument for identifying as a 35-year-old recently-former swimsuit model, and the irony is that I'm 100% certain to be happy with the results; zero chance of a lawsuit unless they botch it so completely that I can't walk. The other irony: this would be totally plausible if I were currently male.
Or just identify as non-binary, who knows what being nonbinary really entails.
I think the even more brilliant part is all the medical or mental health professionals involved are required to preserve your privacy so your employer wouldn't even know what you are doing.
“Non - binary “ as a concept is totally bonkers! The trans cult denies the binary of sex and then makes up the word” no-binary “ thus admitting that there is a binary of sex! Of course, their whole ideology is based on lies and unreality! How can people be so stupid?
When this is all over, we moms should demand reparations : I suggest Botox and massages for life, plus an annual yoga retreat in Malibu, no fewer than five days per annum. I can't prove it, but I know I've aged more than 7 years during my 7-year "journey," and I think the C-suite fetishists need to make me whole. You're a lawyer: want to draw something up, for when the time comes? ;)
I can sympathize. But rots of ruck on those "reparations" -- I'm still waiting for mine for losing my estate in 1066 following the Battle of Hastings ... 😉🙂
I would be very happy with that definition, but unfortunately, I am not a legislator and have no power in this at all. I'm just stuck whining out here in Substack land. :(
And yes, a lawyer. Commercial litigation, some landlord-tenant, appellate work and more. Funny that this hasn't come up in our earlier conversations.
Maybe not a perfect definition -- may leave some CAIS people out in the cold -- but definitely a step in "right" direction. 🙂
As we've discussed, several States are already making some efforts along those lines, although I think Oklahoma in particular is barking up the wrong tree with an unscientific definition for "female":
You may want to "signal-boost" that idea somehow. 🙂 I see there are a couple of other women lawyers here on Substack -- "Unyielding Bicyclist" [US] and Sarah Phillimore [UK], though Sarah seems over-committed to "adult human female" -- that you might make common cause with:
I haven't delved very deeply into the Equal Rights Amendment, and there may well be some flies in the ointment. But maybe part of the reason that it has failed to pass -- first on the order papers in 1923 -- is that there's no workable definition for "woman":
But thanks for the info on your work background. Seem to recollect you had made an oblique reference to it that I had been curious about, but it seemed to have a personal aspect that I didn't want to pry into.
I think a tweak of that definition that might be a bit more inclusive is “people whose bodies are designed to support a reproductive system that would produce ova.” Then, even if they don’t have such a system, if they have a body that is fully compatible with such a system, (and if existing, working or not), they are still women. If this leaves anyone out who is not a man, that person is one of those rare people who really is too ambiguous to be put into one or the other category. What do you think? You’ve thought about this more than most people so I’d love to hear your comments. ❤️
And thanks for the info on what states are doing. Perhaps we at Substack aren’t the only ones trying to find sanity.
In any case, while I certainly think you have the high ground, I also think that you're contributing to the problem by promoting obscure or poorly defined concepts. As I put it in a recent comment here and on your post on "Who Put the Kids in Charge?":
QUOTE:
Gerald: “It requires that professionals ... must confirm the self-diagnosis of children and young teenagers who believe they are a different gender than their birth sex.”

Some idiotic Australian "doctor" seems to "think" that weights and heights are intrinsic to the definitions for the sexes. Who knew that all men are over 6 feet and all women are under 5 foot 6? 🤔🙄

Bookmarked! 😉🙂

The complaint is in the works!!!! Class action - all Moms whose kid was sucked into the gender vortex.
A lawyer by trade? Good for you -- what type, what area?
But any plans in the works to pass some laws defining "woman"? Maybe as "adult human whose reproductive system is designed to produce ova"? 😉🙂
I would be very happy with that definition, but unfortunately, I am not a legislator and have no power in this at all. I'm just stuck whining out here in Substack land. :(

But on a quick Google I see that Kansas is basically using the definition you've suggested or have argued for:
NPR: "The Kansas law legally defines a woman as someone whose reproductive system is designed to produce ova ...."

omg brilliant
Jenny, your introduction is spot on! Thanks for sharing Gerald's update
Thank you for sharing this and thank you for your own work and Substack.
Thanks for an informative essay -- that I would have otherwise missed but for Jenny's reposting ... 🙂
But since you both referenced Jennifer Bilek, you might have some interest in a post of hers in which she quoted Eric Hoffer:
"Every good cause begins as a movement, becomes a business and eventually degenerates into a racket" - Eric Hoffer

In any case, while I certainly think you have the high ground, I also think that you're contributing to the problem by promoting obscure or poorly defined concepts. As I put it in a recent comment here and on your post on "Who Put the Kids in Charge?":

The Hoffer quote is particularly apt when it comes to the burgeoning gender industry
Amen to that -- a crime of the century, a medical scandal to top the Tuskegee syphilis study compounded with "doctor" Mengele.
But thanks for the comment and the Likes.
However, I do hope you'll give some thought to the idea of definitions that Andrew Doyle referred to. See my comments there including my latest:

It was my privilege! You have written a critical chapter that I knew I couldn't write myself, and I'm very grateful.
Ugh. Yeah. It's awful.
But to JPA's point about tide-shifting highlights in the email... there are indeed so many wins right now!
And only 4 people sent me the Times piece LOL
