Great discussion. Thanks to Helene for being so supportive of people who are in danger of falling into a “trans” identity, and of parents watching their children suffer through this. Your thoughts on this subject are very appreciated and your willingness to reveal your own painful past to help others is admirable.
I haven't listened yet, but am looking forward to it. I just wanted to say that the quote "Real love doesn't stand idle while someone's body, future and overall life are being decimated" brought tears to my eyes, as I think about my daughter's pure hatred of my attempts to get her to think and slow down. It's easy to question whether you are even being loving when the object of that love is so resentful and hostile. That quote is something to hang onto.
You will find even stronger encouragement in her final essay, #6. She would be a highly effective coach for parents like us, in all seriousness. I think she might say our kids' anger rises in direct proportion to their knowledge that we're right. Hang in there!

Thank you Jenny and thank you Helene for sharing your story. Great to hear your voice after reading your work on PITT.
Right? To me, she sounds just like Isabella Rossellini. :)
