What a great episode. Stella and the Wider Lens podcast was my initiation to this topic in 2024 (yes, I was oblivious to this for a long time), and it thankfully happened BEFORE my gender-nonconforming, autistic son (now 13) could fall for this cult. I feel like I managed to peak him just in time. So I am immensely grateful to her and Sasha. Thanks to you too, Jenny, for this great podcast (I'm sorry to hear it's ending!). I hope I'll be able to attend the conference next year, and the awesome panel you proposed will happen!
This was just what I was hoping it would be. You asked all the right questions and Stella gave such insightful answers.
A few things struck me. Stella’s description of her first parents’ Zoom and the emotions the parents showed meshed exactly with Miriam Grossman’s first parents’ Zoom. They were both overwhelmed by the parents’ pain - a very particular and very palpable pain. Maybe it’s something we can flesh out.
I was so happy you guys discussed Dr Will Malone. His compassion, honesty, logic and clear explanation for why the medical interventions are so unwise was so comforting to me and assured me I’m not crazy for thinking this stuff is so insane.
Yes to a comedy segment at the next conference!!!!
I'm absolutely thrilled when my gender-critical heroes get together! But of course they would be together, since we're all on the same side (truth!) GWL was my weekly dose of sanity too! Thank you both for your bravery.
On Stella’s last comments, the thing about the parents that I keep coming back to, as a parent, is grief. Unsanctioned grief. Forbidden grief. Gas-lit grief. Criminal grief. ‘How dare you grieve’ the world says as if it’s a thing to be ashamed of. But we do have to hide it from our children don’t we?
If I could have my way and set up something I could look forward to, it would be a chance to attend "The Jokes Write Themselves" in the hotel bar where the next Genspect Conference happens! Ridicule will be an important part of how we can eventually end this cultural sickness.

So excited to hear this interview with Stella. Gender a wider lens helped to save my sanity and steer my child away from this madness. I only hope to one day meet her and shake her hand. Transmuted as a podcast series has also been so helpful. Knowing there are others out there who see this ideology for what it is helps people feel less isolated.

Hippiesq will join me for episode 50 as she did for ep. 1, and that feels like the right way to complete the podcast series. I’ll think of more to say before we record! Ideas are welcome.
Maybe laying out what you think still needs to be done -- a sort of "pass the torch" gesture? This madness will cling so stubbornly to much in our popular culture that it'll take generations for these seriously bad ideas to fully retreat back to the territory of their origins: the clinically insane.
